To many gamers, the thought of custom building a PC is overwhelming. Whether it's determining if parts are compatible with each other, installing everything where it needs to go, or filling your hard drive with pr0n games, there's a lot that goes into setting up a new machine. It was only a matter of time before the whole process was simulated. And now, that time has come with PC Building Simulator.
This newly released Steam game is exactly the sort of thing I wish I had when I was 15 years with dozens of components lying on the table in front of me. In partnership with virtually every major hardware manufacturer in the business, the game allows you to "Build your very own PC empire, from simple diagnosis and repairs to bespoke, boutique creations that any gamer would drool over".

Basically, imagine you're building a PC. The small of brand new computer parts breezes through the air as you tighten all the screws to your motherboard. In goes the graphics card, and then the SSD. Damn, it's beautiful.
Only, in this case, you can't actually use it to do anything because it's not real. But hey, at least you'll know how to install a CPU heatsink when the time comes.
The game has been surprisingly well-received given the subject matter. It currently stands with a "Very Positive" review average on Steam with a reasonable $19.99 price tag (roughly the price of a few 120mm case fans).
Some buyers have been disappointed that water cooling isn't included in the current version, but surely that will come in-time. And along with that a ton of new options, as promised by the developer.
